Mobile and Email Marketing

Even though many advocate that the end of Email is near, I truly doubt that and the fact that Email Marketing and Tools around it continue to pop and are successful, is a clear sign that it will continue with us for some time.

Nevertheless, it needs to adapt to hardware and software advances - such as the rise of smarter mobile devices and the way we interact with them.

Nowadays, most people check their emails on their smartphones and, as many of you might know, most email marketing messages are built taking into consideration desktop benchmarks.

This means, that there is a large chunk of people that, when accessing that email marketing message you sent them, see something that is unformatted - bad user experience and they will not certainly check it later on their laptop, they will most likely delete it in the moment.

So start paying attention to your analytics and check the percentage of users opening your email marketing messages through mobile devices and you see what I'm saying.

It is important to start adapting your email marketing messages to mobile devices and have that in mind when building them.

Facebook Apps and the Social opt-in

As all of us noticed, in some cases they ask for some information before being able to use that specific app.
That opt-in is called "Social Opt-in" and will enable the app owner to gather the information your are saying you don't mind being used.
